Blog displaying as single column of articles

Brilliant - Thank you. I had not set the Home menu to "Across".

I am sorry to bother you with this again - the Blog is something I do not really understand.
Clicking on the Home page of www.jadance.co.uk/J4/ displays the blog at the bottom of the page. Clicking on the Blog menu item in the main menu displays an error message saying "Your layout is empty". What is causing that?
I want to remove the Blog from the Home page and have it accessible only from the Blog menu. Please would you be kind enough to advise.

Make sure that Blog menu item has default template assigned (the same template as home page, for example). You can see this is System > Site Template Styles.

You can edit the Home menu item and set the number of articles to 0.
