External links for the Joomla Gallery

I like both the image slider and the gallery, but I think the gallery would look the best for what I need. I have a web design page I want to have something like the gallery in which there are thumbnails of the websites I have created below the main image for the visitor to click on and it will show up in the main image. I don't want it to rotate or anything like in the image slider, yet I want the main image to show a site, and the visitor is able to click on the image of that website to take them there, basically the external link capability of the image slider. Can the gallery do this, or should I stick to the image slider? Thanks!

I am attaching my modified file default.php of the module here. Use it as you use normal version, just enter links instead of descriptions. Description will not be shown, but images will be linked.

I saw the updated Default file for the Joomla Gallery allowing for the entry of external links instead of descriptions. Is it possible to do both with the Hot Joomla Gallery; the links and image descriptions with additional code? If so, what should that code be?

Noob here. I can't seem to find default.php in either public_htm;/modules/ joomla gallery and hot joomla gallery ... may I ask where is default.php is originally?

It's in /modules/mod_hot_joomla_gallery/tmpl/default.php
