I've got the hotsoftware template as you can see: "payment receipt for Invoice 7735 sent on 29/09/2011; HJT005 Software + Addon Developer License"

Despite my efforts (as a beginner Jommla user, God, save me!!!), I cannot get this template run on my site as it has been exhibited on your site.
Even after follow all instructions you have given in your site, and even after tryed the HOT START installation steps…

The final result remains the same: a site without that apearence I've payed for, probably because some joomla sets (modules, or parameters) were left out of the instructions…

My installation (jommla 1.7.0 first, and 1.7.2 current) is hosted under Linux environment right now, with PHP 5.2.17, MSQL 5.0.4 and Apache 2, all reqs are matching the recommended, aren't it?.

Can you indicate what should be wrong, if I follow your instructions step by step???

Are your instructions to install it really correct?

Step by step instructions are given here: demo.hotjoomlatemplates.com/software16/i...cle&id=24&Itemid=149

Are you sure that you did this procedure completely? And didn't take any other steps but these described here?

Hi, Milos.
I'm sure I have done exacly that steps... more than once, in windows and linux environment as well. I left the windows option and started again in Linux as principal.

My steps were:
1.) I downloaded jommla! 1.7.2 from jommla.org;
2.) I created a MySQL databank for Jommla;
3.) I uploaded all files (after unzip jommla 1.7.2) with filezila to public_html
file;
4.) I run joomla installation steps without any issue
5.) At the end, I could verify the website with traditional Joomla aspect and functions running as expected in this cenario (front and back end);
6.) I tryed to instal the extention hot_software17.zip following the basic installation steps: demo.hotjoomlatemplates.com/software16/i...cle&id=23&Itemid=148
7.) The result was exacly the same when I did all steps again, changing the step 6 for the HotStart instructions: demo.hotjoomlatemplates.com/software16/i...cle&id=24&Itemid=149

Look the atached file to see what I've got as result after choose the suposed installed template (if I did all correctly...). It seems like all modules from template are disabled. Do I have to configure and start each module manually?

If you need to copy our demo data, you must follow HotStart instruction CAREFULLY. What I mean by CAREFULLY? I mean read it from start and do only what's described there.

In example, you don't need to install Joomla.

Oh... dunkey beginner!!! (I'll learn...)
Just in case, you could indicate as part of step 1 something like this: "insted of install joomla from original pack, use this Hot Start pack with Joomla 1.7.0". Just for us, who is trying Hot Joomla Template by the first time. Thing about it, pls!

Well, now I'll try as you recommended the corret way.

In the other hand, I've noticed that the release of this HotStart pack is 1.7.0, and the current Joomla release is 1.7.2 with some relevant security issues solved.

Does HOTSoftware have a new release for this template, or you suggest installing it as 1.7.0 and apply the upgrade pack to 1.7.2 after have done it?
:blink: ?

Whatever we write, there would always be some people who:

1. Try to install without reading the instructions.
2. Fail to install!
3. Start to panic!

I know that. Sometimes I am just like that! :)

You can upgrade 1.7.0 easily as Joomla 1.7 has "one-click updates". Site will work normally after upgrade.
