Trouble with 1.6 extension manager installation

Unable to write entry


Receiving this error for all extensions dose tmp file need to be chmod 777?

TMP Folder needs to be also. From a message I would say that file could not be written in that folder at first place.

it looks like any extension weither its a photogallery or even templates give the same error

Delete tmp older, create new and give it chmod 777.
