VirtueMart in my language was created by FelixHOT
When I switch Joomla frontend language to my default, the VirtueMart stops displaying the products. The shopping cart is in my language, but the shop displays nothing. When I switch the language back to english everything is OK.
I have quickstarted Joomla 2.5.1, VM 2.0.2, latest language pack for both.
Is there a solution?

That file you use is probably edited bit by you. Get original and edit it using notepad++

I do have the same problem. As soon as you have a second language and choose this as the default language, shop does not show any products. If you keep English as default language but switch on the language filter, the same happens. I believe this template in this version is not capable to run true multilanguage.
Neither for currency, by the way. Same issue. Even if you indicate CHF as the currency for product, it still shows USD in the frontend.
I wonder if anybody was successful to implement a multilingual-multicurreny shop with this template.

This is not about template. Problem is with VirtueMart that's still not 100% finished product to support all the features that Joomla 2.5 has. By the way, make sure that VirtueMart language files is available for all the languages that you are using. Also, try upgrading VM to the latest version 2.0.11 (they have added many language files). Or check yourself, is there the folder for your language in the /languages folder of Joomla and is there a file named as "xx-XX.com_virtuemart.ini" which is made for VirtueMart? If there's no such file, you must create it yourself by translating the english file /languages/en-GB/en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini
