Sportal 1.6 does not set up

We have installed hot_sportal16_hotstart.zip by upload to our server and extraction when completed. The product does not display the Sportal Template but only the default Joomla version when installation is completed.

We have successfully installed hot_sportal_hotstart.zip (1.5) and all is correct but we have to use 1.6 for the ACL component. When viewing completed files via FTP the hot_sportal is there but when checking in the Admin at vmsasquash.com.au/website/administrator/...emplates&view=styles there is no hot_sportal template availabel or set as the default by the installer.

The isntalled component is viewable at vmsasquash.com.au/vmsaweb/ (as the default setting not hot_sportal)

We have installed hot_sportal16_hotstart.zip 6 times and included a re download of the original file from your servers in case a corrupt download had occurred.

We have atatched an image dispalying the FTP viewing of hot_sportal and teh non dispaly in the Admin backend as mentioned above.

Installation of approx 200 successful copies of Joomla would indicate we are following correct procedure as does teh installation of the 1.5 version of Sportal template.

Can you please advise if this is a known bug in hot_sportal16_hotstart.zip and what we can do to rectify this.

1. You must not upload files over existing Joomla installation.
2. You must use an empty database
3. You must click Install Sample data during installation.
4. You must make sure that all files from HotStart archive are uploaded correctly (into an empty folder).

In short, follow installation instructions carefully. If you need us to install HotStart for you, price for this service is $30.

We have followed the below points exactly and I will detail beside each point to clarify.

1. You must not upload files over existing Joomla installation. - Installed into an empty folder at www.vmsasquash.com.au/vmsaweb/ . Previous attempts were at www.vmsasquash.com.au/website/so also a new install.
2. You must use an empty database. - Completely new and empty database created with each attempt.
3. You must click Install Sample data during installation. - This has been done at the appropriate entry point each time.
4. You must make sure that all files from HotStart archive are uploaded correctly (into an empty folder). - We have even tried by FTP the completly unzipped hotstart files over the installed files without success.

We have the correct procedure being followed as the hotstart 1.5 version installed correctly with all data etc displaying. We have also installed over 200 other sites so do understand what you are trying to say.

To check this for you we have created a new clean domain entry in WHM as www.vmsasquash.com and installed into the root directory with nothing else in the site. A completely clean database and site install and still the default Joomla displays at www.vmsasquash.com . Please view this URL.

This is clearly an issue with the set up files in hot_sportal16_hotstart.zip as all other installs of your product work perfectly using exactly the same procedures.

We should not be required to pay for installation when we have purchased a membership and the supplied product would appear to be at fault.

Only this www.vmsasquash.com/ can open. On this site I see blank Joomla, definitely not from our HotStart.

1. Have you unzipped hot_sportal16_hotstart.zip on you local computer?
2. Have you uploaded via FTP all files and folders from this archive to your server?

Please use Report To Moderator and give me your FTP access to check this.

Just checked it again... It installs on our server without problems... Also many other people are using this template without problems.

Please download package again and upload once again. Make sure that all files are uploaded (there are 1000s of files and folders). I recommend Filezilla (for PC or Mac). It will show you some files in Failed Transfer if they are not uploaded properly.

This template does not install. We have downloaded it several times, tried to install via FTP as you suggested, install by extraction direct onto the server and the tempalte simple does not display in 1.6 forrmat.
It does in 1.5 and other templates we have installed after downloading to test do.

To show this we have installed your Restaurant 1.6 version into the same site at vmsasquash.com.au/rest/ so you can see we know how to install the template and thsi works perfectly. The display of Sportal at vmsasquash.com.au/web/ only shows the default Joomla designa s we have mentioned previously. This is a complete new download and install yet again.

We have installed and uninstalled this template approx 15 times without success but instant success with your other designs so this leans towards an issue with this template only or we would not be able to install the others when tested. Our client is a sporting body and has selected this Sporal design to use.

We have only used the other downloaded templates for testing to locate why Sportal will not install.

All files are uploaded as we have extracted the file on the server direct to ensure no loss of files. We also tested another tiem with FTP (Filezilla) and no errors were reported.

What possible reason can there be for other designs to install but not Sportal even though it shows in the files (FileZilla) as being available but is not from the Admin when logged in.

I am very interesetd in a possible reason becasue it is beyond our comprehension.
