mod_custom problems was created by
First, I want to say thanks for your wonderful website. I am proud to be a current member in your club, and have access to these great templates, so thank you!

Here is my odd problem. On a fresh hotstart load of your ecommerce template, if I make any changes what-so-ever to most of the "mod_custom" modules, the text/pic in that field drops down a few lines, and changing the setting back to what it was, does not put the text back where it was before the initial change.

Example:
- I load fresh from scratch and make absolutely no other changes other than the following
- Go into Extensions
- Go into Module Manager
- Choose something mod_custom like Free Registration, online support, company logos, etc...
- Make one simple change such as changing "Show Title" from yes to no or vice versa
- This will shift that item down the page a few lines
- Changing the setting back to where it was first, does not put the item back where it was. It is stuck sitting too low. The same thing happens if you use the toggle editor option to make any change whatsoever. It moves it out of place, and even if you put it back the way it was, the item never returns to the correct position.

Here is a screen shot of what I mean. It will show how the "online support" and "free registration" are sitting too low now on the screen and I cant get them back to where they were originally. And all I did after a fresh from scratch load, went to module manager, went into free registration module, changed "show title" from yes to no and clicked apply. This moved it down the page. I then changed it back from no to yes and clicked apply and its still stuck too low with no change at all. I did the same with "online support" with same results. I dont get it? Its not just these two modules either, as it appears to be most of the mod_custom ones, but not every one. Please help? I am using Google Chrome to do my work. Here is the screen showing what I mean:

Sorry, forgot to also ask, how far down the todo list is your eCommerce v1.6 upgrade and will that have any affect at all on something like this? Thanks again and take care!

Regarding your first question.
Go to Plugin Manager, and click on "Editor - TinyMCE".
In Plugin Parameters, set the:

Code Cleanup on Startup: "Off"
Code cleanup on save: "Never"

Save. Then try to change HTML of modules.

OK, so I tried that and it did not behave any differently than before. Also, I just found out that its even easier to mees it up than I thought. Here is what I just tried just now to test:

- Reloaded hotstart from scratch
- Immediately went into plugin manager to edit tinymce with the settings you asked for. Code cleanup on startup was defaulted to "off", so I left it that way. Code cleanup on save I changed to "never" from the default of always.
- Clicked save button
- Went straight to Module manager and into the "online support" module.
- Didnt change anything at all, not a single thing. All I did was click the "save" button, and it shifted my logo and text downwards like in the screenshot I sent you. Before I thought I actually had to change something to trigger the issue, but it appears that I dont have to click anything at all except the "save" button to trigger it.
- I again repeated this with the "free registration" module. Simply entered the module and clicked "save" with absolutely no changes made, and the logo/text moved down on the page.
- Using "apply" instead of "save" causes the exact same thing to happen.

Do you suppose it may be some type of permissions problem while saving or applying? I cant imagine so, but I am baffled. I cant really move forward with building the website until this bug is figured out, since I plan to use those modules like displayed in the demo. I cant make any changes to the text without it moving out of place permanently it seems. So if I wanted to change it from saying "online support" to just say "support", I cant do it without messing it up and it moving down the page, because I cannot "apply" or save" without it messing up. It shouldnt move anywhere from just clicking those buttons :( . What else can you suggest?

Thank you so very much for taking the time to try and help me. It is VERY much appreciated sir!

This is the most common problem in Joomla's WYSIWYG editors. I noticed the same problem even in Joomla 1.6's editor. The only solution to this is to disable the editor in Global Configuration and use "No Editor". You can edit your HTML code in any editor available for PC or Mac (such as Dreamweaver, Coda, or any other free...) and just paste to Joomla.

But check again all the parameters in the plugin's settings and make sure you disabled all.

Version for Joomla 1.6 will be available, but I can't tell you when. Please follow the progress here: www.hotjoomlatemplates.com/blog/26-news/...-16-upgrade-progress

I would just like to say that disabling the editor in global settings worked as far as I can tell. So THANK YOU very much for that info. It makes it a little harder to modify some stuff, but I think I can deal with that.

Side note...I really wish the mainmenu (the categories down the left side), that they were expandable similar to the top menu, but be able to go up to maybe 5 levels deep at most or so. Is that what "Mega Menu" does on the other templates? Is that the same thing that I speak of? What are the chances of an extension or module becoming available for the ecommerce to do this?

Thanks again for your help on this!
