readmore button customization

readmore button customization was created by hardimos

How can i customize the "Readmore" text? I want a colored rectangle arount the text.
I tried to alter the appropriatepoint at the template_ccss.css but with no luck.

You can add css at bottom of template_css.css:

p.readmore{
...your style...
}

I did that, but didn't work (with Articles Category module).
But seems to work with the default joomla blog style.
