Editing Carousel Article 1 makes it disappear. was created by jfbosch
I edited the article "Carousel Article 1", and now it has disappeared off my public site. Instead of the initial 3 items, there are now only 2.
So I compared it with "Carousel Article 2" to see if there were any differences in the settings. Not that I could find.
But I then saved "Carousel Article 2" as well, without making any changes, and it too disappeared of the public site.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanx.

If you are using j1.6 clear the trash, it's making serious problems. Also maybe you have set to order to featured articles by modify date ascending, and have limited items to show on frontage so article you edit goes down.

Tnx much for the tip. Yes, J1.6.
However, I must be really thick, because I cannot find where and how to clear the trash despite googling.
Also, these aren't featured articles, I think, but carousel articles.
I also haven't been able to find where to configure what is displayed in the carousel. Very frustrating.

OK, finally found how to empty the trash.
people.joomla.org/videos/video/286-jooml...ash.html?groupid=458
Seriously unintuitive.
Didn't solve my problem though...
Any other ideas?
How do I change what shows up in the carousel?

Hi,
you can chose category/section/articles or folder with images. You select what you will be using by parameter "Content Source". If you use category/section/articles then you must fill parameter "Content Source IDs (required!)" with right IDs. If it's category/section/articles you enter ID{s) of that category or section (you can find out ID from Category/Section/Article manager - shown in list). Multiple IDs are separated using comma.
There is an parameter named "Show Frontpage Articles" , if you set it to hide then and if article is featured then carousel will omit that article - so I'am suspecting this can be your problem.

Hi Ivan.
Thank you so much for your help.
It wasn't exactly what you said. But at least what you said got me looking at the right places.
I finally notice that next to all of the articles I have edited or saved, it now showed a little lock icon just to the left of the article name in the article list view. When I hover over it, it says "Checked In" then the user and the time, which I assumed was just informational on when the latest change was saved etc. But I randomly tried clicking on the lock, and what do you know, it disappeared, and my article shows up in the carousel again. No idea what that little lock does, but I suppose I better read some more Joomla docs.
Still very unintuitive functionality for a newbe.
