Edit links to pages

Want to edit some pages ( like contact page )

What is the proper way to do this?

Would like:

http://sitename/features/joomla-stuff/contact

to become:

http://sitename//contact

Or similar, after I edit the current demo one from install.

You want to customize URLs, use some component for that like sh404sef , theer are few more free extensions that allows you to custom define look or URL

yes sitename/features/joomla-stuff/contact is what joomal gives you for SEF link. But you need fine tune which requires each is edited specially so you need such extension that can do that

can this be done via file manager / ftp?

or, I'd be willing to pay to have a few edited for me..
