Front end editor layout problem

When editing or adding new articles from the front end, the layout is all messed up. Everything is in a list including drop down selections and there's no calendar popups.
Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks

OK, something's not right. Since you have looked at the site one page that has a {load position xx} and another page that has {gallery}xx{/gallery} on them the sub menus on the services menu item are permanently open. Also, the main menu is not floating to the right and the CSS code has not made any difference to the front end editor layout.
The problem with the menu wasn't there until you had a look.

Does seem a bit strange, but I know I didn't do any work on the site after submitting the ticket. Have you any idea why the menu would be open on those pages and why it's suddenly not aligning? Thanks for your help
