Upgrade CMS from 1.7.4 to Joomla 2.5.0 was created by elanna
Hy, Community!
I tryed to upgrade my Hot Software project from CMS 1.7.3 to 1.7.4 first, and then, from 1.7.4 to 2.5.0 to evaluate results after each step.
The first step worked as expected, no issues after this upgrade to 1.7.4.
O the other hand, I cannot finish the upgrade process to 2.5.0.
Someone has noticed a similar problem with this Joomla upgrade to 2.5.0?
It seems as CMS core problem, but I'd like to share more opinions...

Well, this blog articles were very usefull!
After applying the automatic process (Find Updates), an error cames up, indicating that is necessary turn ON the php parameter "allow_url_fopen".
I contacted my hosting provider to edit my php.ini file, once I have a windows server shared hosting plan. I'm waiting their permission to edit php.ini and I'll try again...
Tks.
P.S.: If you use Linux Server, create a .htaccess file with the string: php_value allow_url_fopen on, and place it in the root of your web directory.
Before doing it, I strongly recommend you to find more information about the use of .htaccess files.
