Do you have an account on Google Analytics if no, first create an account on Google Analytics. After creating account you will be getting both javscript code and tracking Id. You can use anyone of them which you looking for to add Google analytics code into the web site template.

There are free 3rd party modules that enable you to insert that with ease. If you prefer you can also edit index.php of template to insert code snippet google gave you within head tag section.
