Hot Image Slider causes conflict with my positions

I just installed Hot Image Slider and it looks great. However I have a custom html module I created that sits at the very top of the website. This looks fine when Hot Image Slider is not published. But as soon as I publish Hot Image Slider the position of that top custom html module gets messed up. It is causing some kind of conflict with the positions in my template. Is there a way to avoid this?

I have linked 2 screensshots showing what I mean. The first image ( bit.ly/17RMh4i ) is what it is supposed to look like. Th second image ( bit.ly/15xWP2O ) is what happens when I publish the Hot Image slider.
