Upgrading V1.0.2 to V1.0.3 J1.5 and Fade effects

First off, let me start by saying I HEART this module. Its the only one that has worked for a specific need.
Now, I have a two part question:

Part ONE:
Is it possible to upgrade without having to uninstall previous version. I get the error that there is a module using the folder name during installation of the latest available download.

Part TWO:
Does the latest version for Joomla 1.5 have the Fade effect mentioned on the download for Joomla 1.6 Change Log?

yes you can just overwrite files, put(overwrite also) language ini file in language/en-gb folders , then go to module settings define vales for new parameters and save.
New version has fade effect.
