Load image from another url

Is it possible to make it so you can change the "Folder where your images are stored" value to a URL? I have a separate webserver dedicated to hosting static content such as images and would like to point the Newsflash module to this location rather than a local directory. I've tried just putting the URL in but the module always prepends my site address no matter whether I'm putting just a path or a full URL.

Nevermind, I made the modifications myself. It's not quite complete, the labels aren't imported into the database or wherever that stuff gets stored, but it's functionally there. Just throwing it out there for others who are interested or for the devs to incorporate.
