Cannot see more than 2 featured articles

Hello!
I am pretty new to joomla and now im completely frustrated. I want 3 articles to be featured on the frontpage, but in the moment i click on an article and press the feature button , the website creates an icon linking me to a second page , where the article is shown .

i would be really thankfull for any help!

You should edit parameters in the Home Page menu item. There you can set how many featured items to show on the front page and in how many columns.
