Can you install any other template? Perhaps you have problems with Joomla permissions.

I've made permissions on tmp and below 777

I've installed projectfork without error.

Go to Joomla backend > Help > System info > Directory permissions. Are all directories marked green (writable)?

Are you installing Joomla 1.6 version of template into Joomla 1.6 website? Make sure you are installing proper version.
