hello, i need to translate the "learn more"-(read more) link in articles. How do I do that in joomla 1.6?

For English that is this file:
language\en-GB\en-GB.com_content.ini

You need to change:
COM_CONTENT_READ_MORE="Read more: "

For other languages find file like this <Language code>.com_content.ini
