?? Rotator now changes it's pictures, I have checked in Chrome and IE?

yes, because I modified the php file manually. but does not appear in the panel configuration window.

There are two modules having same name one is type mod_custom and that is not right module you need to configure. Maybe you are entering it's configuration?

In module manager chose to show all modules. See if there are two modules named:
"HOT Joomla Gallery"
