I would like to add to this thread. We have the same problem on our website. As soon as I disable the modules at bottom (Reflection, Lightbox, Carousel and Joomla Gallery) the copyright notice appears halfway the page. We didn't change any php files and after testing it with a new Hot start template I see the same behavior.
What is the correct way to disable the black row at the bottom (we don't need it now)? Maybe I shouldn't disable modules but do something else?

Sorry, but perhaps you must have at least one module position from Bottom1-4 range published. The problem with footer is not fixable in Safari (as far as I know) if you unpublish all Bottom1-4 modules.
