Lost Component/Page Content

Sorry for the newbie issues here. I do not use any of the "Main Menu" menu items because I am only using the Top Menu. I unpublished them all except for the Home Page because it would not let me.

Since I wasn't using any of the Main Menu items I trashed 3-4 of them for the reason of just cleaning up my admin area.

I guess it was the wrong thing to do. After deleting these 3-4 menu items (I still have the Home, Adult Alternative, Hip-Hop, Indie Rock, Latino Music, Popular Music and Forum) when looking at my site, the content for every page except the home page is gone. The header and footer is all fine and the one module I have for all pages is there but the articles are not loaded.

Is there a way to re-upload the Menu Items I deleted so my content will return? or is there a way to determine why the content is no loaded and fix it?

I am still too new with Joomla and this template to understand why trashing these menu items would affect the other content (articles, Kunena Forum, etc...) but my main issue is doing what it takes short of blowing it all away and starting over.

Any thoughts?

If you use j1.6 check the trash. There are usually both Top Menu and Main Menu maybe things you still see are from other menu. Deleting menu item does not remove any other content.

OK, I finally figured out what I did that created the issue but I still need help!

I was in the template (index.php) making some edits and deleted the line <jdoc:include type="component" /> BUT put it back.

<jdoc:include type="message" />
<jdoc:include type="component" />
</div>

The Component has returned to the Home page but will not repopulate to all the other pages. So none of the other pages have any components showing.

Is there anything I can do to get the components to show on all the pages again?

I finally just uninstalled the template and reinstalled it and the content is back.
