Hot Start procedure was created by kronosit
I used the "Hot Start" method to setup the template, and delted the "Installation" folder, but when I try to navigate to the website I get the following error:
"No configuration file found and no installation code available. Exiting..."
"No configuration file found and no installation code available. Exiting..."

Did you install all per Hot Start guide? Perhaps, installer didn't create configuration.php file (it informed you about it during installation) because folder where you installed it is not writable. You should make it writable and repeat the process. If you can't make it writable, you should create configuration.php file manually (using plain text editor). Installer will give you content for it on the screen where it informs you that configuration.php can't be created, so you just need to copy/paste.

When I unzip the Hot Start package there is no configuration.php file, so there was never one transfered to the server.

Correct. But installer script should create one during the installation process.

If the installer creates the file, how do I change it to writeable after uploading, and before I run the installer? At least that is what your instructions say.

No, configuration.php file should not be writable. The directory (where you uploaded files and where configuration.php should be created) should be writable. Otherwise, installation script couldn't create configuration.php during installation process.
