ok will give it a try. If I don't get back to you right away it is because I am locked out of my backend by a new plugin I just enabled and I need a bit to get it worked out with vendor. I will try this change as soon as I get access back and let you know how it works out. thanks again Milos,

Hello Milos,
I tried the change to xhtml with no success. I have since searched for a new login module with hopes of finding a horizontal module or a popup window module. I found both, but I still get problems after login. I would like to see basic [hi,username] along with a logoff icon. It would be best if all was on one line below my language flags, but it would also be ok if the text was one line below flags with logoff icon two lines below flags as it looks like there is room.
I keep ending up without enough space on line for login greeting and logoff icon. The modules on the right all seem to auto expand towards the left for increased content, but this USER4 does not seem to autoexpand towards the right.
Right now I have disabled joomla's mod_login and instead have enabled Core Designs Login Module mod_cd_login which is very compact using a highslide js popup window [not free - will pay after testing if it works out for me- promise!] I like that it is very compact - but even this won't read correctly. If we can resolve problem so I can use standard login that would be great if not, this CD module would also work for me.
Is there any way to:
1. increase width of USER4? so there would be more room for login greeting AND logoff icon?
2. Move USER4 up on template to make room for additional vertical content? [not sure if this will help if problem is module width]
Note, I also tried C7 modules: mod_c7dialogmod and mod_c7collapse and I ran into jquery conflicts with one [i think, because my front page hot slider stopped working...so I have decided against these two options.
I also tried VJLogin module: mod_vjtLogin which is another highslide popup which is a possible choice for me as it is slim but at this point, it will not display user greeting and username even when I have selected option in parameters..I think this might be related to USER4 module size.
Thanks again for your help Milos Please see my site www.salamastra.com you can use username and password "guest" to see my problem.

Scott

Thanks Milos, it worked! The Core Design login module now looks great with greeting and logoff icon on line below language flags. VJT login module is unchanged - works but I can not see greeting... and Joomla login module is complete but it is above and on same line as flags and is not as nice looking as Core Design module. So I will keep the css layout change and purchase the Core Design login. Thanks again for great support. Regards,
Scott

Hi again Milos. I forgot to ask: is it possible to set up this module [user4] so that it is right justified instead of left justified? I would rather that the login icon be to the right edge of the page under the language flags. Is this possible to change?

Yes, edit class div.cd_moduletitle_logo of file mod_cd_login.css (module's style sheet) and set the text-align to the right.
