EEEK! I am not sure I understand all that. Before I embark on that fix.
Please note that the link brings up the thumbnail - not the main image. Do you think the issue is jquery.
My gallery page has references to jquery all through it.

Menu other poster have solved their problems same or similar to yours by doing that.
