Is It Possible To Center Thumbnails?

I've created a portfolio website so I have to work with images that have different dimensions, but I want the thumbnails to be exactly 110x110px. This messes up the different thumbnails, because most of them will be streched tot fit the 110x110px.

Is there a solution that will make thumbnails the exact dimension I want without distorting the image? For example: The thumbnail that is created is based on the center of the image.

There is one manual way that gives best results. Plugin creates sub-folder with thumbs in folder with your images. So let plugin create them first time after that pick that replace thumb images in that folder with your precise ones.
