front page only after install

Hi, after installing hot_portfolio i am taken to the front page and cannot access the admin page

the url shown is:

www.greatorexfinearts.com/admin/

also when i try to access through the admin panel the templates do not show up, just the default ones

Do you have now "administrator" folder in your joomla root at all?

yes I do

ok this may be a dumb question but I am new to Joomla so please bear with me:

prior to installing the hot start app I already have installed Joomla via my web host

I have all the hot start files in public_html/admin

My original installation of Joomla is in public_html/joomla

it seems that this is conflicting with the installation, I am not sure...

So the question is does the hot start install include installation of Joomla in the process

ok I have taken the following actions to resolve my installation problems:

1. clean install of joomla 1.522 into public_html working fine both front page and admin

2. I then followed the instructions correctly to upload hot start photo gallery via filezilla into /public_html

3. Once uploaded via filezilla I went to www.greatorexfinearts.com/public_html/index.php to start the install and received the message
"This webpage has a redirect loop"

I cleared all cookies as directed but the redirect loop error still appears.

4. I then tried the www.greatorexfinearts.com/administrator page and got the final page of the install stating remove installation directory

5. I have checked that the uploads are all there in the file manager on my hosting site and can confirm that at least the template and images are shown.

6.Please advise on what I should do next so that I can install correctly instead of getting this redirect loop error and the final page of install showing on my /adminstrator page

I am finding this frustrating for what was supposed to be a simple install has turned into a nightmare last 3 days now!!
