Did hot start install but carousel not showing up

I installed the real estate script via hot start install and everything appears to be working fine except that the carousel. I've gone through the module but can't seem to see anything wrong. I'm a little lost.

I don't see carousel on your home page. Have you assigned it using Menu assignment in module configuration to any menu option?

I'm not understanding your post. On the menu assignment page the home button is checked. Is that what you mean?

Sorry here is what I meant step by step:

Go to Extensions->Module Manager , click on hot carousel module.
In the bottom left part there Menu Assignment pane.
You can then check the "Select Menu Items From the List"
and by holding ctlr and clicking you can select on which page(s) you want to display carousel.
