Installing mod_hot_joomla_carousel_pro16 copy.zip was created by juniorjet
Can you please tell me where to put the mod_hot_joomla_carousel_pro16 copy.zip folder (I assume I don't need to unzip first) so I can then upload and install the extension. I've put it in a couple different places and installed it but now the module isn't showing up at all in my Modules listing. The first time I installed all I saw was one left arrow and the word "Warning" on the Article page. So I trashed the Module and installed again but it's not showing up now.
Maybe I have to de-install first if such a thing?
During the install it also asks for a list of images, one per line but NO MENTION of if you need the file extension or not.
Any help appreciated, sorry for the stupid questions.

Best if you use installation with zip file (package). Just select zip you got from us using Plugin Manager and click install.
Also note that there there are two versions of module for joomla 1.5 and 1.6. The module you are using is for joomla 1.6

Nope, not working. (I'll assume you mean "Extension Manager" NOT "Plug-in Manager") I've installed about a dozen times, installs fine and I've checked the remote site and the module is there but it will not show up in my Module Manager. Only tidbit of help I can find is a "Warning" that says: "The PHP temporary directory is the directory that PHP uses to store an uploaded file before Joomla! can access this file. Whilst the directory not being set isn't always a problem, if you are having issues with manifest files not being detected or uploaded files not being detected, setting this in your php.ini file might fix the issue." This sounds like the problem but unfortunately I have no clue where a php.ini file is and what to set the temporary directory to even if i could find it. Any ideas, I'm about to put my fist through this computer.
(Remember, the very first time I installed this file it showed up but I could only see one arrow so I assumed I would have to re-install)

OK, there is an "UnInstall" - sorry wish I had known that about 5 hours ago. Now my only problem is linking these images. I simply want to link to off site url's from each image - is that not possible!!! I tried using http://www links and just www. links but the carousel seems to want to add a path at the start of the link:
www.designchoice.ws/joomla_sites/centenn...hallenger&mc=CLG_SXT
All I used is: www.dodge.ca/en/vehicle_home.php?np=Challenger&mc=CLG_SXT
Doesn't make sense, this should be SIMPLE to do and not take 6 hours like it did to install the Module. Why else would you want an image carousel if not to link to either larger images or to an off-site page?
Wow, any thoughts would help, thanks.

Well , its designed to use non cross-domain references , but you can overcome that by little source change. Open
modules\mod_hot_joomla_carousel_pro\tmpl\default.php
Near end of file you will see in two places this:
...$currentLink.'<img src="'.$carouselImagesPath.'/'.$infinite_pic[$loop].'"...
remove the red marked characters.
