Which menu module? There are several menu modules in this template. Please make sure the menu module is enabled and published on this page. Also, make sure there is translation available for this module, if you are using JoomFish.

it is not a menu is the breadcrumbs module that shows you the navigation path in the site...

To add a position in template, you should:
1. Edit template's index.php file and add
wherever you want the module position to be located.
2. Edit templateDetails.xml file and add
bewteen <position> and </position> tags.
