Product Category Heading not displaying on page was created by chkmhjf
Hi Everyone,
I have a Parent Category named Furniture, with sub categories Chairs, Tables, sofas etc.
I have products set for each of the subcategories.
In the Menu Items:Bottom Menu 2:- I have a menu link with the following settings.
Details:-
Menu Item Type: VirtueMart Categories Layout
Menu Title: Furniture
Required Settings: Furniture
Page Display Options:-
Browser Page Title: Furniture
Show Page Heading: Yes
Page Heading: Furniture
When I display the page, the Heading shows the Shop (Company) Name instead of the Parent Category name Furniture. Also displayed on the page are the sub categories with the correct Headings, and the browser Page Title shows the Category Name 'Furniture' correctly.
Any help appreciated.

Probably you left default category setting in menu item settings which is VM root category. Set it explicitly to "Furniture"

Using Joomla 2.5.8 and VM 2.0.18.
Thanks for the reply, however I do not understand where to locate the settings.
I looked in these areas and could not find the "Default Category Setting":
1. Menu manager>Menu Items>
2. Menu Item Type>
3. Module Assignment for this Menu Item> VM Category>Title>Show Title
Also Changed the title name from 'VM - Category' to 'Furniture".
Appreciate the help...

Hi Ivan,
Actually I have 'Select a Category: Furniture' but its not working.
The option selected , 'Furniture' is a parent product category of a list of other product categories like tables, chairs etc.
If I change the 'Menu Item Type' to 'Category Layout' instead of 'VirtueMart Categories Layout' the heading
shows up but I lose the list of sub categories.
Are there any other settings in VM that I can change?
Thanks for the help

Maybe changing shop name to "Furniture" and using menu item titles where you need that can solve your problem.
