Hi maybe You did not configured php in IIS right. Also there can can problems when you use ISAPI PHP , use fast CGI PHP.
You can try this workaround. Downlaod microsoft web platform. And install joomla using it. Then just replace virtual folder location to location of hot start folder.

Hey...
I've been using FastCGI all along (like I said..many joomla sites on this server).
It appears to be a code issue with how it integrates with IIS. Are there any hard-coded apache specific mappings in the HTML/CSS somewhere?
I'll try the Web Platform installer but that's how I installed PHP in the first place...but will try a joomla install just for kicks.
Let me know if there's something CODE based I need to change somewhere.

Hey.
I managed to move it to its live environment (a linux server) and it does work. HOWEVER...I still would like to ask that somehow you get this to work on an IIS7 environment. It can only help...
At the very least you should mention in your sales materials that it isn't compatible with IIS7 at this point...

Joomla and VM are created for Linux LAMP environment. That's what's required for every Joomla product.

I don't want to start a problem...but that's not exactly true.
There are Joomla installs that are designed to work with Windows IIS. As PHP and MySQL are able to be installed on a Windows Server, they usually work well together.
Now VirtueMart COULD be a Linux only distro...and if that's the case that's fine...but it should be notated somewhere on the site. As I said I have MANY joomla sites ( www.rochestercomputerguy.com , www.rochesterseniorservices.com , www.theradiozoo.com etc) that I am running on a Windows box. They work great...and it was a shock to me that I was getting 500 errors when I installed the template onto a basic Joomla install without the VM extension (as the site I'm building isn't an e-commerce one...I don't think we need VM right now).
As I said I'd just recommend that somewhere in your store you mention that it isn't Windows compatible at this point...
If you decide you'd like to try and set it up for that I'd be glad to help you beta on my Windows 2008 server. I suspect it's a simple issue of either CGI or ISAPI.
In any event...the template is great on my HOstmonster site...and thanks.
