Virtuemart Icons missing and timeout issue

I read a similar post regarding this issue and have continuing issues as listed below. The poster of this issue was told to go to configuration page to change the default I.P. which shows up when you click on VirtueMart -

1. When I click on "Components" then VirtueMart tab none of the icons show up on the VirtueMart page. Do I need to reinstall Virtuemart?

2. I have attempted several times to access the VirtueMart configuration page and always get a timeout error in my browser. I believe this would be resolved if I could change the default I.P. that is showing up. Is this a correct assumption?

Please make sure that your default menu item (front page type, marked with a star) has this settings:

# Leading 0
# Intro 0
# Columns 1
# Links 0

Have you changed anything in template's index.php file or CSS files?
