Contact Form under Contact Us On Header Menu

i click on contact us on the header menu, go to the contact form and type in a message, click send copy to self and press send. after i press send i get a 404 message. i typed the updated contact info into components - contacts, and contact form. almost all the settings are set to "use global". so i am wondering if i deleted an article or image that i need when i was customizing my site. thanks for your help.

Address in browser should remain same after the click on send button , can you give us link.

that was the problem, i put a email address in the contact redirect thinking it was for redirecting the email. but instead the contact redirect was added to the url and thats why i got the 404. thanks for the answer.

one last question, what happens if custom reply is set to "yes"? is there a place where you specify what to say in the custom reply.

That filed is use in integration with some plugin. There are plugins for custom replays.
