Inset...articles problem and disabling it

Hello...

I have trashed and purged all sample articles that came with the HotStart installation.

1. However, 4 articles are still showing in the inset position. Why is this? How can I remove those articles from showing so that I can add my own articles?

2. Also, how can I disable or remove the inset content or position altogether? Where is this module or plugin or whatever it is configured?

delete trash, but I think that are not articles that are custom HTML modules - check in module manager

All the "custom HTML" types in the module manager are unpublished. Furthermore, I purged the trashed of all articles except the home page. But still...the inset with the deleted articles are showing.

Why is it so difficult to delete/remove/disable the inset?

I found a solution. Although the articles that were still showing in the inset were deleted/trashed...they are still in the database. And because of that, the inset was still showing them. Once I truly deleted them out of the database, then they no longer showed in the inset.
