Quick installation + install sample data = no luck

When I quick install hotsportal 2.5 an install sample data, the site shows everything linear and far left. Alot of pictures are missing.

I deleted the install and tried to do the quick start again but now the next button doesnt work when trying to install from my browser.. what the heck is going on?

Well I'll put my project on hold till I get an answer from the support team here. This puts a huge damper on my web designing tonight. Sometimes I wish after purchasing something that it works out the box.

Usually that can mean two things.
(order by problem probability)

1. You don't have read permission (set CHMOD to 755) on files and folders so images and some other files can not be loaded

2. Some files did not copy during ftp transfer

i have set the permissions correctly when uploading hot start..when i unzip and visit from browser, it doesnt alow me to browse past the first installation page. The next button doesnt do anything :9
