Restrict size of Module

Hi there
I have placed an extension is the user 2 module position ..when I am using safari the template shows fine in Firefox and Explorer the module stretches and shows empty space at the bottom.
Is there any way I can restrict the size of the module expansion .. maybe set it to a fixed pixel width when it is in use
