In module configuration you will find parameter "Linked Titles"

is there any setting where I can set in order to show articles from one category and subcategories as well?

You can use tags, you can tag articles to show with some tag and set page to show items with that tag. That would be solution without any joomla customization. Other way is to create custom layout, maybe there are ready 3rd party components for this you can just install.
