How to change top panel parameters?

Hi,
I can't find how to change the top panel height and background color. There's nothing in the template parameters.
I could modify the index.php file but I think it's not the correct way.

It is controllable using template parameters , but is you use pre-defined style then they don't have effect so you must edit styles/styleX.php , where X is number of style you use.

Change this variables:
$panelBg - this is background color
$panelBorder
$panelHeadings
$panelText - this is text color
