Hot start joomla Update Not working

I have install hot start for Design now. But when i go to update it says"Joomla! update in progress " and goes nowhere and does nothing, say files downloaded and extracted, but no change! Just sits there starring at me

Check is write permission is allowed on your site - set CHMOD of all files and folders to 755
