HOT eCommerce kit - mail problems

Hi! I recently purchased the Hot eCommerce package, who came in two versions (j15, j25).
It is a nice template, a good work, I like it.
The problem is that I tried unsuccessfully to install / setup (both versions -not simultaneously, or together!) so VirtueMart to be able to send order confirmations/update order status to users that use gmail. It is impossible!
It anyone had an error like this? As Administrator, I receive the order, both in the administration panel and the email associated. But the client (that uses the gmail)- no. After an order, the client with gmail is announced that a confirmation mail is on the way to him. He didn't receive that email (yahoo receive!).
Actualy I (re)install (for the 6-th time!!!) the "hot_ecommerce15_hotstart".
I'm not on my first joomla/virtuemart,I've done this before and everything worked fine.
What is wrong? What can i do? Please, help!
(The template is posted on www.ecoplantprofesional.ro ; right now is down because of this issue, I can't work (populate him) until we fix the problem - I hope!)

You have problem with site not ale so send emails ? Check SMTP settings in global configuration, php sendmail must be installed oh hosting server to be able to work. Also you can swap to SMTP server where you can test setting simply in outlook , if they work there they will work in joomla

Thank you Milic for your fast replay and willingness to help me!
To be more specific: I check the global settings, the server is ok, those setting, from the same server (of another site) are allready work with another Joomla platform without magazine. I can't sent (the magazine, I mean) notifications/status orders updates to gmail buyers, they don't receive any mail from me. The shop work ok for all the rest of the buyers that <b>don't</b> use gmail. I am desperate. I tested on Yahoo or other mail; it works. Not gmail. Why? What can I do? To announce: "do not use gmail"?

Strange things happen.
I try to understand how they work for to set the email corectly. I can't figue out.
I do 39 orders for the test, and made 39 combinations of settings. Nothing.

I finaly get to this (the best of):
For email magazine:
- I checked "enable joomla pugin"
- admin@mydomain.ro

For Contact Manager: Contact: I set "myID@gmail.com"

For Global configuration:

Mailer * = "PHP Mail"
From email = "myID@gmail.com"
From Name = "siteOwner"
Sendmail Path = "usr/sbin/sendmail"
SMTP Authentication = "Yes"
SMTP Security = "SSL"
SMTP Port * ="25"
SMTP Username = "myID@gmail.com"
SMTP Password = **********
SMTP Host = "gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com"

With this configuration (only this) I was able:
- to receive orders in magazine
- to receive email in my admin@mydomain.ro
On sending mails/update status order I receive no errors;
however, neither I nor the buyer does not receive notification in gmail addresses

I try:
For the Global configuration:

Mailer * = "PHP Mail" or "SMTP"
From email = "myID@gmail.com"

Errors:

SMTP Error! Could not connect to SMTP host.

(why twice??)

Info: Message sent to Test Final, buyer@gmail.com


(STILL NO MESSAGE RECEIVE for gmail accounts) ... end so on...
I do not know what to check. Please, please HELP!
Ps.: It would help to give you login information to the store by email?

I read this thread twice and I am still not 100% sure that I understand. So, please confirm, your Joomla is sending emails (user registration, contact form, etc...), but your VirtueMart is not sending emails (order confirmations, etc...)?

Let me know what version of VirtueMart you have in your Joomla?

Thanks for the replay. I appreciate!
I am about to quit and to announce other people that template has this problem, so do not buy it. It's simple. Shop does not communicate with Gmail users. I'm tired and angry. It is a major problem.
The Installed version of VirtueMart is 2.0.6 (it came with that "all-in-one" packages installation named "hot_ecommerce_j25_unzip_first" and "hot_ecommerce_j15_unzip_first"). Joomla is 2.5.4
I can't send email to register users, because Joomla doesn't seem to see them (they didn't appear on Contact manager/Contacts nor in Private Messages Manager users area.
I read the documentation several times, finding no explanation.
No matter what I try to fill the Mail Settings / Global Configurations, it does not work for users of gmail. Shop work for other users who use other email.
I took the list of all settings with the same results:

What can I say more?

Tell me please, what should fill these fields:
Mailer: SMTP SERVER
Mail from: username@domain.tld

Because I feel like crazy!
