move a menu item without changing URL

Is there a way to move a menu item from one menu to another without changing its URL?

When you enter menu items setting you have option to select menu to which menu item belongs. If you are use SEF url and menu item is sub item of some other menu item then sef url will contain alias from parent menu item. You can then install some extension to take full control over sef url-s like sh404sef
