SH404SEF doesn't work with menu items VM category

Looks like there is a bug preventing SH404SEF working when linking the menu entry to "VirtueMart » VirtueMart Categories Layout"

In such case, the URL will not show as SEF and all items within the main section (the category content) will have the same link instead of their own link. The link of those sub categories is actually the SEF URL that suppose to be for the menu entry itself.

Any suggestions?

As I remember you can manually set SEF url in sh404sef

The issue is that the sh404sef doesn't work as expected when the menu entry links to "VirtueMart » VirtueMart Categories Layout". You cannot change the broken URLs manually using sh404sef, he simply can't change them.

It looks like it's related to the template but I need to run a few more tests to verify it.
The good news is that by installing the site from "sources" (Joomla, Virtuemart, sh404sef and the template), the only problem is that the main link is not SEF while you can browse the categories and they do get the correct SEF URL. I'll do a fresh install tomorrow and add a link.

The new issue is that I find it hard to get all the template components to show. I'm looking for a document for manual installation. How do I get a site as the demo one but without the sample data? (Only the template components.

Before you use sf404sef you need to disable SEF links in joomla and all other components, that is true.
