Upgrade from 2.5.28 to j3x Question

Hello,

I currently am using the eCommerce template. And, I am running version Joomla 2.5.28. I would like to know how to upgrade to new version, J3X? All help is greatly appreciated!

Make sure your extensions are compatible with j3
Vitruemart is certainly one of theme

Go to Joomla!update admin option, click 'Options' . Four update server chose 'Short Term Support'. Save and refresh back-end few times until joomla reports you can update to j3. Then you can run update.

After update you front-end will be blank or report errors. You will need to replace template. Simple template files overwrite is ok.

Also you have to watch when overwriting template files to preserve your customization if you had it. First make backup
