Multiple Jquery Issues

I'm useing a custom coded html module placed in the inset postion that calls for Jquery but when it loads it, it prevents the topmenu from displaying. I've tried using a plugin that strips out multiple instances of the Jquery calls but when i use it, the menu works but then the custom news ticker/marquee that uses jquery fails to load/work properly. Do you know of a solution that may work to allow both to function properly?

Was able to fix the issue by placing the script call right after the head tag of the index.php feel free to delete post if necessary
