Background image in Footer won't show up in IE

I'm using the Cars template and the footer background image is missing in IE. Works fine in Firefox. Any version of IE it doesn't show up. It's a repeated image. Any ideas as to how to get this background repaet working in IE?

Thanks for the reply. UNfortunately this will not work. I have made numerous custom edits to the template including the footer. In the footer all I did was simply replace the image with a new file and named it the same. I also removed a footer top and bottom images. It works fine in Firefox just not in IE.

By the way I'm using the Joomla 1.5.x version of the template.

can you add ' to links in layot.css:

.bottom_bg {
background:url(../images/bottom_bg1.gif)top repeat-x;
padding:0px 0;
}

to look like this:

.bottom_bg {
background:url('../images/bottom_bg1.gif')top repeat-x;
padding:0px 0;
}

also if that does not help try replacing top with 0.

I had to also make sure there was a space between ")" and "top"
