Hello, I tried to update joomla from 3.0.1 to 3.1.1.
I got an error message while updating:

error: could not open/homepages/39/d466972252/htdocs/logs/index.html for writing
After the failed update my startsite is no longer visible.

It shows a error message 1146.

Table 'db467842189.jos2_contentitem_tag_map' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT `m`.`tag_id`,`t`.* FROM `jos2_contentitem_tag_map` AS m INNER JOIN `jos2_tags` AS t ON `m`.`tag_id` = `t`.`id` WHERE `m`.`type_alias` = 'com_content.article' AND `m`.`content_item_id` = 4 AND `t`.`published` = 1 AND t.access IN (1,1)

What can I do without to upload all files again.
So I have the old standard again, but I cant update joomla.
I did that last week before.

Many thanks for your advice.
best regards
Annett

Maybe your log and tmp path were incorrect or write access was forbidden (CHMOD, should be 755 for that two folders).

Now there is an question will you will able to restore site because j3.1.1 upgrade maybe already changed your database.

Template files are not affected by upgrades so that is safe.

Try it like this :
first make backup copy of files and db in present state and dowlnlaod that to your computer.
Install temporally fresh hot start for j2.5 locally
Clear your hosting folder.
Copy fresh hot start to hosting folder

Overwrite /templates folder with files form backup copy
Overwrite /images folder with files form backup copy
Overwrite Configuration.php with files form backup copy

if db is intact site will work again.

Teach yourself always to make backups before major updates j2->j3 !

NOTE! above instructions do not cover additional components you have installed. You need to copy also their files form backup to hosting.

Many, many thanks. Today, I learned to create and transfer backups.

Now, I have only one error on the homepage:
Error loading component: com_tags, component not found.
How can I hide or change it?
best regards Annett

I found the solution. I made a Extensions check. And found a extension that was not installed via the normal Joomla installation. I reinstall the extension and the error message on the homepage was gone.
