Show Title not working for blog images on Home page

Hi,

For my site historicwinton.org/hw-joomla/ I have 3 blog images in circles on the Home page. The 3 blog articles are also displayed on the Competitors page.

I have globally set Show Title to Off for all articles, but for the individual blog articles I override this by setting Show Title to "On" within the article . This works for the images on the Competitors page, but not for the images on the Home page.

How do I make the article titles show on the Home page without changing my global setting?

Hello,

You should check the settings of the menu items. These settings have the highest priority and override these in global or article/category settings.

The blog images in circles on the Home page are blog articles so don't have a menu item as I see it. The blog category has a menu item, but setting the title to show for that only impacts the "Competitors" blog page, not the blog images on the Home page.

Any other suggestions?

This is where you check:

- Global settings for titles in Components > Articles > Options > Articles > Show title

- The setting for each article in Content > Article > Article title > Options > Show title

- The setting of the menu item connected with this page historicwinton.org/hw-joomla/ in Menus > Menu name > Menu item name > Options > Show title

Hi Milos,

Thanks for that good summary on title settings. I am familiar with them and have tried them all however. The solution I have finally arrived at is using the intro image caption, then styling the caption to be the size of H3 text. It works well for me.
