Hi,
I have recently upgraded a copy of website historicwinton.org to Joomla 4. The copy is in this staging environment: julias17.sg-host.com/hw/ . I adjusted font-size in the original J3 website by going into Extensions - Templates - Menus and using the Sparky Framework to edit the Top Menu font sizes. When I try this in the J4 site at julias17.sg-host.com/hw/ the changes are not saved after clicking Save. How do I change menu font sizes in Joomla 4?
Many thanks,
Julia.

Hello,
The top menu font size is currently set to 16px. You can change this in the template options, under the Menus tab. If there's no effect after you save, are you getting any error messages? After you change the font size, is it restored back to 16px?
Also, I see you are using a temporary URL. This can make problems sometimes because the Joomla file paths are incorrect. Try using the real domain name, but upload the J4 website into a subfolder.
Regards,
Milos

Hi Milos,
After changing Top Menu settings to 18px (and for sub-menus, 16px), clicking Save does not cause any change in effect. The font-sizes stay as 16px/12px . The only message after clicking Save is a green "Style saved".
I am using a temporary URL because I did the upgrade to Joomla 4 on a separate server. My plan is to move the website to the correct URL and server when all the errors have been fixed. Could this be causing a problem?
Thanks for looking into this for me.
Julia.

Hello,
Yes, a temporary URL can cause this problem, but I can't be 100% sure. As I advised, try using a real URL and upload the website into the subdirectory.
If this website is upgraded from J3 to J4, and if it's not upgraded properly, this could also be the reason. You should check the browser console for errors. But, if you ask me, I would first try uploading into a real URL (a subdirectory is fine).
Regards,
Milos

Hi Milos,
I'll give that a go in the next few days. Setting up the website in a subdirectory is a good idea - I just need to arrange with the host for permission for another DB table.
Kind regards,
Julia.

Hi Milos,
I have moved the Joomla 4 website to historicwinton.org/ and put the Joomla 3 old version in historicwinton.org/hw-old/ . I am still unable to increase font size of the menu and submenu on the Joomla 4 version, as I have done with the Joomla 3 site. Any thoughts?
Many thanks,
Julia.
