Moving from local to web server was created by sahanemoz
Hi, I have a commercial download account and I am using the destinations template, I installed the full pack in my localhost and finished my development from there. Now, I decided to move the site to my web server, I zipped the folder containing all the website files and moved it to the html folder on the web server, than I exported the database, the site is working but as a completely new joomla instalation with no content or installed modules on it.
What could I have done wrong and what should I do, other than restarting all over?
Thanks

So you copied files, migrated database , changed configuration.php and that should be it, are you sure you took right database???

Yes, I am sure. The files are there both on my server folder and on the database. When I try to reinstall a hot template or module from the admin panel on my joomla site, it gives me an error saying that a file with the same name is already in the main folder.
